💡 Improvement Ideas
Change and Transformation are two terms frequently used, but they have distinct differences and one is becoming over used.
Change
Change refers to any modification, alteration, or adjustment made within an organisation. It can be small-scale or large-scale and may involve adjustments to processes, systems, structures, or strategies. Change is typically driven by the need to improve efficiency, address specific problems, or adapt to new circumstances. It can be seen as a more incremental and manageable process that aims to bring about specific improvements or solve immediate challenges.
Transformation
Transformational change, on the other hand, goes beyond incremental adjustments and involves a fundamental and comprehensive shift in the way an organisation operates. It encompasses a broad and strategic reimagining of the entire organisation, its culture, processes, and systems to adapt to significant changes in the external environment or internal needs. Transformational change is often driven by the need to achieve breakthrough results, such as launching into new markets, rebranding, or shifting to a different business model.
Transformation-vs-Tactical-ChangeNeedless to say, Transformation has become a buzzword that is being used more frequently to make a Change appear more dramatic.
The next part in our series begins to share playbooks of when and how Change or Transformation can be common scenarios seen in almost any organisation.
